leaderonomics...day 3

ASSALAM...

the third day.... WAAAHHHHH.... fantastic...!! hari ni memang kaw-kaw best.. modul hari ini adalah INTERPERSONAL SKILLS... apa tu...? interpersonal skills adalh cara bagaimana kita communicate dengan seseorang agar komunikasi itu berkesan, sebab setiap orang ada berlainan kefahaman tentang apa yang orang lain cuba sampaikan....

modul ini dikendalikan oleh MRS SHILA CHANDARAN... beliau mempunyai aura yang sangat kuat dan sangat bersemangat serta cara penyampaian beliau sangat menarik...

berikut adalah sebahagian inti pati modul ini:


2 WAYS OF COMMUNICATION:

  • VERBAL: talking, writing and listening.. easy and simple
  • NON VERBAL: using body language, usually related to how we respond to something.. it cannot lie..


body language can be catagorise into:

  • eye contact  
  • smile
  • tone of voice
  • handshake
  • facial expression
  • arms and hand / gesture
                                     
 

body language can tell us whether we are lying or not...body language talks a lot!! it is very useful to know the techniques, so we can apply during inteview session and while communicate with people from different levels.  there are afew tips to improve our NONVERBAL SKILLS:
  1. maintain eye contact
  2. use posture to show interest
  3. associate with people from different culture
  4. observe yourself on videotape
  5. enlist friend and family
  6. improve your decoding skills
TYPE OF LISTENING:
  • ignore
  • pretend
  • selective
  • attentive
  • empathic

another lessons are hearing vs listening.. we need to practice listening, not hearing, because listening need us to hear the sound, understanding and judging it... it will lead to a situation call effective listening, and we can communicate well... we need to became an ACTIVE LISTENER, so people will respect us...

PRESENTATION SKILLS

It is one of the importance skill to present ourself and the project work. for a good presentation, we must:
  • prepare the presentation: the slide show, teamwork and flipchart can be used
  • prepare mindset: pep-talk, manage nerves,build confidence, be enthusiastic
  • learn from feedback: evaluate presentation, learn from mistake, answer question
  • practice: to be more prepared and know the flow of presentation
